Welcome to 3rd grade and Ms. Culver’s class at A2 STEAM! I am excited to be your child’s teacher this year.

Building close relationships with your child and you is important to me, so I always start by sharing some things about myself. I have two adult sons. My oldest, Alex, owns a house close to me in Ypsilanti and works in cyber security. My youngest, Zach, is starting a PhD program at Princeton University this fall. I have a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree from Michigan State University. Go Green! I love cooking, being outdoors, reading, walking, and spending time with my friends and family. Gardening and strength training are some of my newer passions. This is my 9th year at A2 STEAM. I have also taught in other Michigan districts, Texas, and California, so I come to this position with lots of experience and enthusiasm.

I am thrilled to be working with an intern from the University of Michigan this year, Ms. Emma Yachnin. She is from Riverside, Illinois, a suburb just outside of Chicago. Through her coursework, she has worked with a variety of students at Perry Early Learning Center, Lawton Elementary School, and Scarlett Middle School. In her free time, she enjoys singing and learning guitar, reading comic books, and spending time with friends and family. She is very excited for the opportunity to work with your children and learn alongside them!
