Liz Brisson

Hello King Families and Friends!

My name is Liz Brisson, and I am thrilled to be your child’s first grade teacher! I grew up in Ann Arbor and had the opportunity to attend Ann Arbor Public Schools for elementary, middle and high school, so I am super grateful to be teaching in this district!

I studied and received my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education at Michigan State University with a focus in teaching mathematics. Here, I spent four years studying and working in classrooms across Ingham County. While completing my degree, I worked at a local preschool where I taught children between four months and five years old!

After receiving my bachelor’s degree, I decided to further my education and completed my master’s degree in Elementary Education at the University of Michigan. In addition to my Masters, I also received an endorsement in teaching English as a Second Language. During my time as a graduate student, I was lucky enough to serve as a student teacher at King in Mrs.Gatonez’s Kindergarten class.  This experience made me fall in love with the King community and I especially appreciated working with such welcoming students, staff, and families.

Outside of the classroom I enjoy exploring various hobbies. This summer was spent baking and decorating cakes, cooking new dishes, camping and playing golf! I love being outdoors, especially when it involves being active.

Working with children is my passion and I am excited to see how much my students grow this year. I hope to encourage my students to be strong and loving leaders in the community while learning about the world around us. I look forward to an amazing year!
